Need for Speed: M-Z vs. M-24

which is faster in stock form? (does the mid come with pinions?) Using the same pinion, if possible. I assume the Mini-Z would have better acceleration, but how's the top speed? My friends have Mini-Zs and mine broke. I'm out in search of a mini r/c about equal to the Mini-Z. How different are they, and what could we do to even them out (positively)?
