Thanks for the link. I'll probably end up with a mini-z sometime soon as well.
As for what mini-z to get, I'm probably gonna get an MR-02, but all I'd do with my mini-z is race. There's lots of bodies available for the MR-02, lots of upgrades, lots of help because they're so popular, lots of spares available, etc. If you wanna drift, and there's an AWD racing class at the HK mini rc club, that might not be a bad idea either. It's all personal preference.

why do u want the mr02 and not the AWD?? because the AWD can drift and drive like the MR02! i think it will be a good idea for you to get the same one as i do cuz the illustrations for racing, they said you will need 2 team members to race, and the 2 members have to have the same car, so yea u wanna get the same one and race together?

Since the body costs like $40, I would go with a body I like so that I won't need to buy another body to please my eyes. I like RWD cars.. so MR02. For me, it would be the F430 GT white test car. $159 + shipping. Then I would get some sticky tires, ball bearings, and ball diff. That's the minimum upgrade parts you will need.
Since you have decided on the car you should go ask the guys on Mini Z racer forum. There is more info there.

I'll definitely end up with both, but I'm still not sure which one I'll get first. I'm leaning towards the MA-010 after the reading I did today.

Yeah, probably. I think the general census seems to be that on a tight track, AWDs are the king. Our track here in Hong Kong in pretty tight.

Mini-z has:
- more bodies with more detailed elements
- more tuning options for more competitive racing
- a variety of platforms, 2wd, 4wd, F1
- costs less
That being said the dnano performs very well and if you're really strapped for space for a track maybe a better option.

And more places to race, and better support worldwide.

Actually this year will be the 10th anniversary of Mini-Zs! They're not going anywhere, I assure you. The dNaNo would be a far greater worry, especially given the short life of the Mini-Z LIT - and the restrictive/bizarre way it's being rolled out.

If you buy mini-z so then you should buy 2,4 Ghz ready set because of the Mhz is taking so much interference.
Dont buy old Mhz versions!
AWD is the best choice for racing and drifting. Awd is much diverse than mr02.

Oh, that's right! I have bought my mini z from there and the s/h was free.. Best price in the world too, on most items.

I wonder how much the dNano's will sell here when the hobbytown deal is over. I mean the hobbytown price is much better than the ebay price already but ...
