Correct - the only legit way right now is to walk into an HTUSA location. Obviously we all hope that vendors such as ourselves will be able to stock them once the exclusivity period is over.

HTU has a lot of market penetration, and for Kyosho to arrange an exclusive deal piques HTU owners' interest and persuades them to bring the product into the store. If Kyosho had just distributed this product like everything else, you would probably be able to count on one hand how many HTU locations had dNano tracks or even supported the line. I think it was a pretty smart move. Now, a ton of HTU's are going to carry it, and maybe more people will get involved. When the exclusive deal wears off, there will be a lot more consumer interest in these cars.

Theres always fleabay, or the Japanese/Chinese online retailers that cater to the US market.

crazy shipping prices...weeks of waiting... I'm a US customer very interested in dnano's who will not be able to buy one legally with a warranty...I don't think that's such a great idea...I maybe a customer their losing...we waited a long time for this and were gonna have to wait even longer! what if there is no HT in your state? sound like a damn stupid Idea to me. there are only 4 HTUSA's listed that will carry it....

Faded92mx5, what you describe is why it was a good thing for HTUSA - I meant I couldn't understand why Kyosho would limit themselves this way - there must be a good reason, it's just not one that we've been able to deduce based on the information that we have. For example, it may be worth crippling sales initially in order to do a small "test" before opening the floodgates - this is what they did in JP, by only selling them at a handful of Kyosho stores at first - this probably gave them a chance to make sure the software works OK etc. before they got bombarded w/ 100 locations with 100 racers each, taking down their web server and blemishing the product image on day 1. Regardless, I'm trying not to get into that in this thread - if someone wants to start another thread to discuss the topic, please do, but let's try to keep this thread for information about the release and about the locations where we can get our hands on these etc.

pd, there must be a reason why Kyosho are shutting out almost their entire customer base and their established dealer network - there's not much we can do but wait to find out the logic behind all of this - I've got a lot more information than most about this and I can't figure it out, so let's just wait and see. For now though let's just be happy that they're available in the US at all after the long wait.

your right! I'm not getting a lot of sleep and I'm cranky! we could always get kindly members who live by a HTUSA to pick one up for us! and I'm sure smart folks here in the USA will buy up tons to sell on ebay.

Well, you should be able to find a location that sells them. Remember, we just found out this past Friday that we were going to carry them. There are going to be more than 4 locations carrying it, just give it a few weeks.
Now, for the good news! Kyosho says we're 5th in line to get our track. They say 3 weeks. It could potentially take as long as 6-8wks IMHO.
Cheer up guys, at least they're on US soil! Don't get grumpy now when you're so close.

Yap, but at what price? They would be buying at retail and marking it up to cover ebay, paypal and other fee's on top of making a profit. They also have to charge for shipping. The car is already expensive as is.

Look how big is the US. Very unlikely that there will be a HobbytownUSA store near most.

My local Hobby Town in Fremont CA just got their track in last week. I have had a chance to drive on it and it is a blast. I'm sure you guys will enjoy the fun soon!

The two HobbytownUSA stores that were within driving distance closed down not too long ago. We do have two Hobby People stores though. Maybe they will sign up with the program.

You guys can just call a Hobbytown that has them in stock and they can take your order over the phone and mail it to you - that's what I did...I guess it is NOT a guarantee that EVERY Hobbytown will do mail order for you, but just call and ask...I got mine mail ordered from the Hobbytown in IL last week...Pricing is still expensive for such a little car, but noticeably better than eBay or dNaNoShop...just call and ask...

That is good news. I will try that first. Can you tell us how much it cost you using mail order from IL?

I know what MAP pricing is but I'm not sure if it is ok to post it here. The site admin might not like it.
