alpha_003 I think you'll pretty much be able to do what you want to these.
The axles are very compact, meaning not much extra useless junk on them and they are wide so that helps and from what I have read bearings are a must or else you will wear out the gears some what fast.

As far as torque, in stock form I'd say they are lacking a bit.
From what I have read if you increase the torque you will have problems at the wheels with stripping out so that needs to be beefed up also. The person in the other forum drilled and pinned the wheels he used (I cant remember if he used mini-T wheels or not)
I think mini-T shocks could be used if you have a custom chassis and a slightly longer wheelbase.

i think you read my mind....the only thing is i am going to trim the front axle of that useless plastic to get a better approach angle, i noticed the wheel strip out easy with locked differentials or with more torque....i am planning on drilling and pinning the wheels, i think i will use mini-t wheels, since they have some nice designs and are not much bigger....also because of their tire choice (dirt hawgs 1/18)
i am going to extend the wheel base 1-2 inches so it could crawl up better, also, since it is 5 inches wide at the axles, i assume that it is stable and has a well balanced center of gravity.

You could probably use some upgrade parts that were meant for a Horizon Hobby Mini Mauler. Here's the link to the Mini Mauler section of their website: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Search/D...Mauler&CatId=C
