I just lost the turning spring. Where can I get a new one?

I'm not sure where you can get a new one. I have seen people take a spring out of a pen and adapt it to work. If you cut one of those springs and straighten out some of the sections it might work. I'm not sure otherwise, but you should be able to come up with a substitute.

Long time back I heard about someone modifying a spring out of a VHS tape. If you've got one sitting around that you don't care about, might be worth taking it apart for the spring.

I had the same prob and i found a small wire with 8 aluminum smaller wires inside. Well the smaller wires were hard to bend so i made one fit just to size (it wasn't one of those thick wires). But yeah I guess find aluminum wire the same thickness as the spring and bend and straighten to fit. Hope This Helps

Guitar strings make great micro springs, whether you use them straight, or coil them. the thicker(wound) strings work great for a straight perfectly bendable micro spring. If you decide to wind your own, use a medium guage wire(Not wound) and coil it around any object smaller in diameter. applying a little heat also helps just don't let it turn red hot to the point where the wire gets deformed.
This is probally the only original idea i've had and thought i'd share
