NASCAR body

this body's from an AFX slotcar. I dremeled out the side body mounts and grinded down the wheel wells to allow the front wheels to turn. i also drilled a hole in the back window for the antanae. i mounted the body with scotch tape. if anyone has an ideas for mounting the body just shoot me some ideas. BTW this is my first body mod.

First off, pictures over 600 pixels in any direction is TOO BIG. Resize it in something like Paint, Photoshop, or even Word. Next issue: Focal Point, on your car it's IN THE BACKGROUND, making the whole car a blurry mess, even when shrunk to more decent proportions. If your digi-cam has a "macro" mode, use it. If not, back up from the subject until it's all in focus; then take the pic, then crop it down to a useful size. With the size of your blurry pic, your cam obviously has the resolution so the "stand far away and crop picture" method will still work.

Pretty decent looking oval Taurus. I'd chop open the wheelwells and try to lower it down over the chassis a bit more. Any plans for paint, or are you staying with the Sticker theme? Not really used to seeing a Nascar on chromies.

**DELTETE YOUR HUGE-ASS PICTURE FROM YOUR POST**
Here is the same pic at 1/3 size, you can copy it and reupload into the first post. See, it actually fits on a message board.

that is really high, just use the front and back mounts and cut lower slots in the body.

They look good except for the body riding high. Thats the problem with most all slot car bodies I've tried using. They just don't have much room in the upper body or canopy. And with an SE chassis, the problem is worse. I'd suggest putting those types of bodies on the new Pixar Zips. They have the old style chassis and with the PCB cover removed, you can get the body very low.
Or, you can just call them your version of off road NASCAR.
As to mounting. You have to either cut, or build your own slots into the front and rear of the body so that they align with the tabs on the chassis. You can do this right in the front and rear of the body if the chassis fits perfect lengthwize. But, if it doesn't and is to short, you have to build up one of the slots with styrene or cut one out of an old body and glue it in there. I do this with the rear tab if the body is to long. If it is to short, you cut the slots in the body front and back and trim the tabs until it will slip into the slots tightly. That's about it outside of using a little imagination.
