painting wheels
i want to paint my wheels black with some spray paint but i'm not sure if i should just go and paint it, prime it first, or sand and prime. they do have a bit of a glossy coat to them so i was unsure and i want to get it right the first time.

I'd give em a good once over with a fine sandpaper and just paint em black. If you were going to a light color I'd suggest priming in white first, but black, especially flat black, covers pretty good.

If you're looking to get a long lasting gloss coat, spray on the color you want. When that's dry, spray some clear coat on there. it will protect the paint underneath. Just be aware that if you plan on using chrome paint, clear coat will dull it way down to a metallic silver. Just so you know, in case you want to do other rim sets...
