every time my motor screeches, even under load sometimes, i clean it out the motor bushings with some compressed air and then with some WD-40 or Slick 50 1 lube. then i oil them up with motor oil. next time im gonna try to use graphite in the bushings. will that hurt anything?

The screeching is the biggest reason I've tried to go to ball bearing motor cans as much as possible. The bronze bushings are just too high-maintenance. Unfortunately, the BB cans are hard to get for the 130s, and not available at all (to the best of my knowledge) for the 180 or 260 motors. I suppose I could retro-fit a can with some extra bearings that I have laying around from a destroyed Squat BB 130 can, but I am teh lazy.

So, does your drag motor have a BB can?

Nope. It is a 180, and has the normal bushings.

Minizstore.com and hobbyetc.com both have the PN Racing BB cans, and RCmart generally carries the Yeah Racing cans. Personally, I like the Yeah Racing cans, they are also one of the ones you commonly see NML use.

so to bring back this post like an illegitimate child but couldnt you just run the motor in the water at full voltage for 30+minutes then put it in a new glass of water but add the lubricant to the water if it were a thin oil or something of that nature to lube the entire motor in and out or would it gunk it up?
