Huh? wire up a transmission? dude, they have a transmission BUILT IN... Or do you mean a 2 or 3 SPEED transmission?
Other things? Like what, cook eggs? Shave?
Azimov EDIT: I removed the attachment to your post. It was hilarious, but this is a family forum and it contained a word that is usually omitted by the filters. Try to keep things G rated in the future please.

this would deffinetly be the greatest thing you could do for an xmod....in theory. there is a very limited amount of space to put extra gears in and for a mechanism that change the gears. you should look on the larger cars that have a 2 speed tranny see how that works and make your own custom design off that. also finding a way to change the gears that could work off ur tx would be very hard. instead of making a topic about how you think someone should do this, y dont you do it yourself, go give your friend a visit and figure it out with him and come back with a tut or something.
also post a pic or vid of this tranny, i really wanna see.
ramza nice pic lmao

I beg to differ. Aside from the fact that I don't believe it can even be reasonably done at all (without massive modification to the chassis and drive train, to the point of no longer being recognizable as an X-mod), I don't think it's needed. Hell, even the electric VW we built in high school had a 4 speed, but we only ever used second gear. The motor can handle very high RPMs, can't stall, and has peak torque at 0 RPM. And here's the kicker, there ain't much space to work with.
Once you consider the complication of the typical RC two speed set up (and this design is an automatic shift, no tx/rx needed), and the dubious improvment in performance (in this scale), I seriously doubt this would be the greatest thing you could do for an xmod.
Hypothetically, if you did it, I'm sure performance could be improved. Significantly? I'm not so sure. But I honestly don't think it can be done in an xmod.

Sorry Azimov, I didnt think much about youngsters being on here, most message boards I frequent are a little older users. It's just that I got on here, read that (almost) funny post, and had to reply. Won't happen again.

No big deal. It was actually pretty tame and I found it very funny. But, rules are rules. Don't sweat it.
