questions

so i stumbled across an xmod at the mall the other day and im hoocked. im going to be getting one soon maybe tomorow. just wondering how fast they go and what the turning is like. i have a zip zap and when you turn, the wheels jolt from one side to the other and i was wondering if xmods had pressure sencitive steering?

The Xmod steering is proportional, the more you turn the wheel on the remote, the more the wheels turn on the car. There is also a trim on the remote that sets the turning limit for the car. This is great, especially for my high speed cars. I limit the steering to stop the incessant roll overs everytime i touch the steering.

The Evo series has tighter turning, and i'm guessing since you're talking about buying a new one that this is what you're talking about. They're steering is really tight and the cars have been really durable. I've driven the crap out of my firebird and aside from scuffs on the body, she's still running.

Mods all depend on your skill level. I soldered in two more cells and it handled it quite well. I did fry a FET though after a few weeks use. I hit a bump that made it do a foward flip, which I think might have caused the motor to surge back.

I've heard people running more cells, and I'm still running 6 without a problem on a new board.

THe motor upgrade is ok, but you're going to want more cells if you use the higher gearing ratios.

I would recomend getting the Firebird as you get larger diameter tires in the $5 body upgrade kit. The rest of the accesories are too expensive imo right now.
