I am new here, just got my MT abuot a week ago. I use the Orange motor with a 6-tooth pinion from a generic car and then all green gears. these damn gears are a little to quick for any real off-roading. I am thinking about doing the GearDown conversion with the 4th gear to get some real climbing power.

Red motor, blue ZZ idle gear, green gears. it works great, slow enough for good crawling but engouh wheel spin for hill climbing. i deffinatly reccomend the 4th gear mod.

Hmmm.... Orange gears with a purple 10 tooth pinion from super slicks. The 9 tooth pinion also works very well. These are both quad cells of course. Now to get me some fets.

omg i just did the 4th gear conv. and it is fukin sweet. i couldn't find the 6/18 but i did find a 7/18 and omg it is soo mich better. And just so that i wasn't stuck with a slo-mo MT i bought another to keep as a racer(even tho they aren't very good at it). definately a MUST if you want to climb. Now to chop it up and make it articulate...
edt. articulation done also did the steering upgrade (took motor from a "dome" car) and pics
after----------------------------------------------------------------before
and you can see the steering upgrade

I wanted a crawler with adequate speed. I went a tri-cell with a 7/18 idler added and a motor similar to one that came out of a boss hog. If you hold it down, it spins all 4 tires on the carpet without problem. I just got some weighted tires to put on. I want to build a wagon and see how much it can pull.
