Steering Problems

Hello,

I am having some problems with my steering. When I turn left or right, the steering does not reset itself back to the middle and the car keeps going in that direction.

I was just curious as to whether or not anybody has had this problem before, but If you have and know a remedy, please tell me.

Thanks,
Yaksha

Did you check the steering spring?

im having the exact same problem with my skyline.
so i opened it up and checked everything out, the steering spring was still in place and everything looked fine. I put it backed together and it worked a little better.

on a side note. what is the steering trim supposed to be attached to . cause when i poened it up and adjusted the trim it only rotated the post a few degrees and never came in cantact with anything ??? just wondering what up with that

Saturday I bought an Impreza at Toys-R-Us and right out of the box it drifted to the right. After playing around with the trim (to no avail) I went to the 'Mechanics Corner' at http://www.microsizers.com/service-report.html and sent them the following note:

"I purchased the Subaru Impreza this afternoon and, after assembling it, I noticed it pulls to the right. I immediately adjusted the trim lever (which, oddly, was already to the extreme left) to the center, then gradually to the right -- all of which made the pulling worse. Thanks for your prompt reply."

Here was their reply:

"Thank you for your recent e-mail. I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Microsizer. I am sending you out a new chassis for your microsizer. If you have any other problems please send everything into us with a copy of your receipt for a full replacement of the kit."

I'm just posting this to let you know that the online Customer Support at MicroSizers seems to be pretty good. I'll let you know if the replacement chassis has steering problems...

It's here!

Well, my new MicroSizer 27 MHz chassis arrived today (2 days after their e-mail -- not bad). It came in a grey padded envelope.

The rims were silver (which was odd since I told them that I have a Subaru Impreza: tan rims, but I really can't complain) and the front right axle was bent -- the tire was at a 45-degree angle. Since I had to change the front tires anyway, this wasn't too big of a deal (still....). I also made a note of the fact that the trim lever on this chassis was straight (the other trim was all the way to the left to start).

Once everything was swapped from my original car to the new chassis, I charged it up and -- this car goes straight! Woohoo! Now all is right with the world.

wait...so you are saying that even if your microsizer was not broken, you could tell customer support that it WAS and they would send you a free chassis no questions asked?

No way

I'm not saying that at all. MicroSizer's customer service department was very helpful and efficient. If people start taking advantage of them, they are less likey to be so cooperative in the future. I wouldn't want someone else with a legitimate problem to have to go through weeks of scrutiny and hassle because some people tried to abuse the system.
