7-Cell
i found out, after doing a 6 cell mod, that a 7 cell mod is easier. for me anyway. i just took a 3.6v ni-cd battery pack from my vtech phone, and i had a plug that i made fit it. and with that, i wired it into my car. its easy to take off and charge, just plug it back into the phone, and charge the phone. that extra little bit makes my car fly.

Hmm, lets see 6 volt (4.8 if you're using rechargables) + 3.6 can go along the lines of 9.6 volts... Im suprised you haven't fried anything... I'm not too sure if you're getting full potential out of it though, because certain batteries discharge at different rates, ill have to try this though, i have a battery pack right here actually, it reads "MODEL BT-905 3.6V 600mAh".. wonder if we have the same thing . I know it came from a phone, just not sure which.

Oh, forgot to ask. Does anyone know of a way to recharge these without putting them directly back into the phone? I have a duratrax intellipeak charger, that i use for my 1/10th scale cars, but would it blow this thing up?

This is almost what I have, same voltage, same mAh rating, and same style plug.

i dunno, mine is 3.6v 400mAh. I just plug it back, but as for you, i have no idea if its safe or not. and the jump is great, you can tell. without AWD you lose traction on the back wheels as soon as you floor it. and sometimes the tires fly off when your goin fast enough. as far better than a 6 cell, its not quite as heavy, and i think its a little easier to deal with.

yeah, it fits under the body. its just alot of putting the body on just the front, then shaking it around till the back fits. you may have to push it a little, but it doesnt do anything.

OMG! I just threw one of these batteries away a couple of days ago! I tossed it because it only held a charge for 30-45 minutes, but that'd be as long as I would run my X-Mod in a race.........I should have kept it........dang.........

The battery was probably bad anyway. If it would only hold a charge for 30-45 minutes in a phone that has no moving parts, it would probably only last about 2 minutes in an XMod.
