i had one. not exactly the best cars in the world. But what you can do is make a custom crawler chassis and remove the front and rear pods from the car and attach them to the chassis. Glue tamiya jugg junior tires to the stock rims and bingo cheap easy sorta offroad rc.

I have one. There are many r/c sites devoted to these. They are also called Tinracers (Google it and you find tons of great sites). They make front and rear suspension mods and some other crazy stuff to make them go 50 mph. You need to get the realy mod and junk like that. Just don't expect much stock. The stock tires are hard rubber and really limit how much you can do with them.
Have fun and welcome to the board!

I think I know one:
www.tinracers.com
It used to work. Don't know if it still does.
There are some in other languages that have insane stuff like ball bearings and other neat stuff.
Have fun and godd luck on finding what you want!

unless its been discontinued in the last year or so (probably less) than no it hasnt been because i purchased one for a science olimpia project last year. I was in 8th grade and they let me and my teacher into the automotive tech shop for a day to make a 4 link suspension system for it. We entered it into a contest where a vehicle had to be made that could go threw a 5 foot long obstacle course. Worked great
Oh and if your looking for some quick fun get a dremel and grind out the devider between the two batteries in the battery tray and shove in a 9 volt. SCOTTY INGAGE LUDACRUS SPEED! doesnt last long but the electronics will PROBABLY be fine afterwards. The electronics in ours was fine after it cooled off.

9 volt battery? Man i thought i was pushing it with the custom 6 volt ni-cad pack i made. The motor gets real hot after about 4-5 minutes. I guess maybe cause the amp draw. But my little monster mt does get some awesome wheelie action. And it is also very fast. I am currently waiting for a tamiya plasma dash Jr motor i have on order at my local hobbytown usa store.
which will make it insanely fast. The plasma dash is a motor made for 1/32 scale slot car racing(particulary drag) and has the same can dimentions as a typical Mabuchi motor(the stock canned heat motor). I also noted with the added voltage the steering was also improved. Anyway i totally suggest this mod to anyone it really was a lot of fun. And i am more than willing to give you any help or advice i can offer.
For anyone who has not seen this mod or has had trouble with the link here is a quick link below.
Thanks have fun,
Bob
