I have found a site that sells lithium-ion.
http://www.slavin4u.com/lithium.html
They are much cheaper than $19 bucks.

The Li-Ions at AtomicMods are $9.95, not $19. Get the info straight please. And you can get them with solder tabs. If you join their forum and have at least 10 posts, you get a discount, and the Li-Ions are $8.95 each.
I have purchased some of them and they are kick-butt.

I am going to buy 2 cells from Rob, and his little charging unit with the LEDs.
I have a few chargers around here from various things (cd players, cell phones, etc)
All 12V, and 300mAh, 350mAh, 500mAh.
What is the recommended mAh output for these cells?

Rob uses the 500(i think), so you should be fine.

My next question.
Is 18 gauge wire needed? Can it be any less?
I have quite a bit of a certain wire, but I'm not sure what gauge it is. Is there a way to find out?
(is 18 gauge the wire used to go to electrical outlets and switches?)

18 gauge is the best wire to use(too small it tends to heat up, too larger, it becomes a weight factor). Electrical wire is 16g and larger(16 is used with small light fixtures, you will mostly see 14 and 12 in your house) for the home. RS has a plastic gauge finder (most likely on their site) to find out what size it is.

lithium ion and lithium polymer rechargeables are dangerous. burn your house down dangerous. water speeding the reaction dangerous. a jet of white hot plasma shooting out of them dangerous.
that said i use lipo whenever i can. the mah, v, wt, and sz are unsurpassed.
if you hack apart a celphone charger to charge lithium with be careful to match charger output ma with the battery size. a 250 mah lithium can only be charged at 250 mah or less. or it will explode and burn uncontrollably. same thing can happen with a fully charged lithium battery if accidentally shorted. or charged after discharging below 3v per cell.
this is not stuff for kids to play with. even smart kids that are patient and knowledgeable.
please have your parents help you if you are under 16.
and charge in a ceramic pot outside your house.

You guys have me all scared now :P
But if I buy 2 cells, and the little charging unit with LED's from Rob, use my own 18 gauge wiring, and a charger rated the same as the one on his site, it should be fine ?
