Yeah, I decided to keep the yellow ones instead of the red arms to be different. I may switch to the yellow shocks, too. I wish they had yellow differentials! Ha!
My wife just bought me a 350Z today. The body seems tight for Li-Ions...I will have to play with it, I guess. Look for pics...

Li-Ions
Well, you need some soldering skills first and foremost...it's not too difficult, but it helps to know how the soldering works.
You can purchase the Dean's connectors online at various hobby websites. Get the 2 prong type. I found them for $1.40 per pair including the heat shrink. If you check out AtomicMods.com, there is a How-To for installing the Pro-Kit. It involves drilling the chassis to make holes for the tie-wraps to secure the batteries. The How-To has lots of pictures. It is actually very easy.
Of course, you will need a Li-Ion charger. Rob at AtomicMods sells 'em for about $20. It comes with a Deans connector already on it, and it connects directly to the batteries on the car. They charge up fairly fast.
Basically what I did was copy the Pro-Kit setup. If you buy batteries from AtomicMods, get the ones that have the solder tabs. Those makes things much easier.
Besides that, there is not a whole lot to it. Good luck! A little bit of effort will make your car haul booty. Make sure you have AWD, and you should also get the metal bearings. The power of the Li-Ions will wear out the stock bushings.
** One more thing...You can see from the pic, I used upgraded wiring (18 guage) to connect the batteries to the board. If you are not comfortable in doing that, you can just solder a Dean's connector to the stock wiring to make it easier.

Fast enough...
I haven't checked it on a speed checker, if that's what you are asking. Top speed doesn't mean anything really. Where can you run your car 40mph? I used this particular setup for short tracks. The Stage2 motor with the 9-tooth gear is pretty good. It probably will do about 25mph, but the acceleration is awesome. So, for short tracks, it rocks. For longer tracks, a motor like the 180S from AtomicMods would be ideal. You could use a 10 or 11 tooth gear and it would fly. It would just wouldn't accelerate quite as fast.
So, you have to build the ride to fit what you are doing. The AtomicMods SS130 is a great engine. For $20, that thing absolutely rolls. My other Skyline has that with a 10 tooth, and it gets up and goes. And, you can hear the difference with the Li-Ions. The engines spin up quicker and spin faster than they do with the NiMh batteries.
Plan your objective before you build it. It is also helpful to have a pinion puller so you can change out the gears to suit different situations. It is money well spent if you are really into it.
I build the cars mainly for hobby, not so much to race. They probably get run around my house with my kids chasing them more than they are on a track.
I may start offering my services to those that want to use it. It's just something I enjoy.
