overhauled xmod project
hey, sup guys and gals? i havent been on here fro a very long time, mostly becasue i got into 1/10 nitro trucks, and 1/18 electric cars. i have all the elects form my micro rs4, and i havent touched my xmod in (literaly) about 7 months. i just brought it out tonight, to see what i could do. i am probly going to add some hobby elcecstronics, and mabye a 180 motor. it should be nice when i am finished. i am not going to spend tons of $$ on this, though. the only thing i really need is a good mini servo, but i can pick one of those up for around $17. any sugestions? this is what im puttign in it: esc: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUY13&P=0

The hitec HS-55 is a good choice. Good price, decent availability, and it fits almost perfectly.

The big problem I'm having (had now) is finding an AM receiver that's small enough to fit in an xmod. The best I could find is a receiver from a Mini-X.You could easily use all the electronics from it, and have a decent setup with a nice 2 channel futaba (standard on a Mini-X) for 75 bucks+about 15-20 for shipping.

i had problems with the hs-55 servo, i have stripped a few sets of gears i would recomend the hs-56HB. it is about the same size and has stronger gears. or maby a servo saver if you could fit it in your xmod on an hs-55. as for the reciever i used an fm 75mhz GWS R4P II "PICO". smaller then any of the am recievers i have seen. just a few thoughts
