Check out my wiring pic, the smd leds are actually there! The wires lead to them!
Sorry for bringing back more then a year old topic, really sorry, lol just found out, but anyways

What if you had a dual cell 150mah battery, or above, and you wired the lights to the motor, well the head lights, and the other rear lights to the reverse on the board, get it? that way forword you0 get front, back you get the red taillights.

Just connect the LED to the motor terminal. The led will lit only in one directon, which one, depends on the polarity of the leds. You can connect 2 pairs of leds, one pair for forward and 1 pair for bckw, just make sure that polarity of the pairs are opposite to each other.

connecting LEDs directly to the motor terminals is one of the stupidest mods ever!!!

The leds should be fed by their own batteries... to switch em on and off: use a transistor to amp the signal, you should use a resistor so you don't take away from the motor, unless you want a really slow bit...

i get my parts off really old computer pieces ie: hard drives, motherboards ect. i super glue them upside-down on a piece of construction paper then solder em. (use enamel wire!!!) then finish it off with sensor safe silicone.

Here ill attatch a simple schematic for all you wanting switched lights. Or if your lazy go and by a Z-Cars... they come with an LED already

Yeah, the insane 2 mA current that the led "eats" would really make the car slow
