Cool my custom 4x4

Well.. I got bored after school today so i decided to make a microsizer a 4x4. Here is what i did: 1) I attatched wires to the positive and negative sides of the battery. 2) I took out the steering mechinism(?). 3) Drilled holes for axle (I guessed where I should drill it). 4)Mounted a powerful motor (with hot glue) in the DIRECT front of the microsizer. I use a powerful motor like a 3.8 or ZZ's 3.0 because there is no secondary gear. 5) Glued and taped the wires leading from the battery to the proper areas of the motor. 6) Connected a micro switch to the negative wire so it doesnt run 4x4 all the time (switch can be connected to positive or negative). DONE, after a 15min. job you have a 4x4! And I'm only 15 so just imagine how fast you 20 year olds will be able to do this. This is my first attempt to attatch a picture so don't make fun of me if i screw up

steering

I took the steering out because I only use the 4x4 on one of my straight tracks. It also goes very fast so I can take off the Lego wheels and put some slicks on there so it is a drag car. P.S. this car is sweet for jumps!

Well nice work, at least you're modding and probably learning from the process, but there's few reasons I think you're gonna get less than enthusiastic response from this one.

There's been a couple 4WD micros to pop in the toy stores, but no one cared for them because they had tank steering, and everyone was like, "I want it to steer like a real car." So if tank steering wouldn't fly, I seriously doubt people will go for no steering.

Two things about this, for one, you ran the wires straight from the battery? That would make the motor run non stop. Is that the way it works? If so, that's not cool, that's not even RC. If the front motor turned on with the back one then the wires must not be hooked to the battery, they would would have to be hooked to the motor terminal in order for it to work properly

Secondly, you glued and taped the wires? Not cool. Kinda sloppy actually. You'd do well going to Radio Shack, picking up a cheap soldering iron, and learning to solder. It'll save you a load of heartache later.

With that said, don't worry about what an old critic like me has to say. The important thing is that you have fun with it, which you seem to be doing, so go have some fun, and keep modding.
