A bit of an odd question

While I was snoopin' around on allelectronics.com, I came across these motors:

http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bi...224&type=store

Basically, an in-hub electric motor. Any idea as to how they'd adapt to an xmod?

At 6 Vdc they turn at approximately 9700 RPM.

i dont think you have a chance of converting them over to XMOD use. you could make a sweet quad motor RC car with them though just not in an XMOD

They would run way too slow.

At 30000 RPMs (totally unrealistic) and the white pinion set(6:1), the wheels are spinning at 5000 RPMs. Thus, the question is more of fitment, power, and the like than whether or not it'll spin fast enough.

You can maybe open up the motor, and see if you could attatch a pinion onto the wheel. (or if there is a shaft) I don't think it would fit in the motor bay to well though.

Go ahead and buy a set... Wire them directly into the motor wires and see what they do... Just mount them to the chassis were the old cups/joints/axles/tires would be... That would take alot of weight off of the car... Just try... You never know...

You really could only use two other wise you would need FETs to give it more current... And Li-Ions probably... Plus, how would you steer? I guess it would be primarily drag...

Already have li-ions And I suppose i could rig up a bit of an odd tierod system to use w/ the stock servo. Just mount the wheels like on the stock suspension, more or less. Not the actual suspension, of course, because extensive modification would be required. but at any rate, I wont be ordering anything until Ivan's blown by (I like in Panama City, Florida. Right in the middle of "You're screwed" alley)
