are you retarded?get alkalines they have higher volts so more punch(1.5v)as apposed to (1.25)just strip your body cut out all the suports with a dremel glue the part of the body together like glue the kit on and cut out the things that hold it on the cut the centers out of your batterie clips use the blue motor(when people have dont dyno graphs it pretty much matched the red on accell and blew it away on top speed its the best out of all the gearings)also make a pen shaft take of the spoiler if your useing one take it apart and clean it ya know and just reduce the weight as much as possible and get some more mods
P.S. it could just be luck my old skyline was faster than my supra some of its luck

For short drags, it's better using some good alkalines.
i.e. Energizer E2
Long time no see LilStagg...

While you are right about voltage, you are completely wrong about performance. The problem with Alkalines, the voltage drops off immediately once they are used, and it just keeps going down. After about 5 minutes of running, a rechargable will kill an alky. See, Mi-Mhs don't just drop a ton of voltage steadily. They actually level off pretty quickly, then, near the end of their charge, the voltage drops significantly. Also, alkys are the heaviest battery for an xmod, and you drop weight when you switch to Ni-mh.

Aren't those lithiums (not lithium ions)?

Yeah they are.
The AAA's marketed as "Titanium Technology". I assume they're lithiums also.

That's really bad for your board then, because lithiums put out 3 volts. 3X4=12 volts, and as we all know, xmod boards are rated at 8.4 volts, or 2 lithium ions.

These are at 1.5 volts.
I assume they are a mixture.

It say's they're Lithium, and they weigh less than alkalines and Ni-Mh's.

I'd still stick with rechargables. I'm personally a fan of IC3s, but to each his own.

Weight is key. the RSX I believe weighs less than the supra though. Do whatever you can to strip it down further. On top of what has been mentioned for weigh reduction, try these:
* Replace the stage 2 metal heatsink with the plastic motor holder. For one drag race or even just a few minutes of operation, it will help you more than it hurts you.
* Remove the gray front suspension/axle cover.
* Dremel out all under the hood except where it needs to attach. I only use 2 screws to hold my hood on. I dremeled the rest out.
If you haven't done so already, totally take apart the drivetrain and clean it of all dust, hair, and debris. Clean out the bearings with small tweezers and rubbing alcohol.
LIGHTLY and CAREFULLY graphite all your bearings, the Y gear, and Diff. If you have greased them, don't do this, it will gum things up. As a general rule, a little graphite is one of the best lubricants for dry bearings. Getting graphite in the motor or on the PCB can fry the board or damage the motor.
I've found that the higher internal resistance of Alkaline batteries keeps them from putting out as much "punch" during accelleration. NiMH and Li-Ion both have a lot lower IR and will probably be best for a single drag race if you're going with just 4 AAA's. Your best bet might be to sneak a 6-cell RSX into the arena. It would most assuredly give you the upper hand in a drag race. Best of luck!
