Never unscrew antenna again!

I was busy installing a "superswitch" and putting 14g wire on my SB, when I had an idea. Instead of going through the pain of unscrewing the untenna everytime to prevent frying the board(if your saftey-conscious, which you should be), why not have a plug instead? Everytime oyu begain to mod or repair, just uplug the antenna! NO losing little screws! NO bending the antenna! NO breaking off the mount! Her are the pictures, I'm hoping you can figure it out, but if you can't, ask, and I'll help.

Now, simply connect them! The best part is that there is NO bare metal exposed to touch any battery terminals or anything.

I don't find it necessary to take the antenna off, I just take the back plate off and leave the antenna on.

thats alot of electrical tape

yeah i dont think you need to take it off the mount if you take it apart. just move it away a little bit. i took mine off once and it touched a battery and i got so pissed cause i was in a hurry and i ended up smoking my reception. i gess this would help if you dont wanna keep resoldering broken wires.

How about this: 100 times better than a paper clutch-type LSD...try my Fully adjustable plate-type LSD tutorial (requires AWD).

Ive already done the plate type LSD(which I highly recomend) and the plug fits snuggly enough that I dont have to worry about it falling out. I found the swaybar topic, but I still dont understand.

Okay check this out... I've found a way to keep it on but keep it from shorting out... Soldier the wire onto the antenna tab really well... Then slide a piece of shrink wrap over it and shrink it down over the tab and wire... Snip whats left off and drill a hole through the shrink wrap next take the antenna and slide it into the end of the shrink wrap and put the screw through the shrink wrap and antenna whole... and screw it on... VIOLA!!! your done...

P.S. when you get ready to disassemble the car just take the screw out and slide the antenna out of the end of the shrink wrap... it will never be able to touch the batts now... MUAHAHA!!!
