I don't know what a V1 is. The brushless motor pretty much requires Li-poly batteries.

A V1 is an external board made by atomic mods. I know that li-poly batteries are not required by bishop, who makes the mamba. Their speed results, however, are taken with 2 li-poly packs. a 7.2 ni-mh pack works just as well, except that it is heavier. Also, the advantage to li-poly is that if you just floor it, the batteries will not cause you to stutter off of the line because they have high ratings on draw.

You don't need a 4 wire servo.
You need a micro receiver and ESC, Li-poly batteries, a good motor and a way to fit everything together.
I like the carbon fibre chassis. Has anybody found a nice way to mount the Atomicmods AA cells to the CF chassis that TinyRC sells? They need to be removable for charging. I don't want to blow my car up.

If you are using the mamba ESC, you do. It specificly states that you need a 4 wire servo, and since the T's servo is a 3 wire setup, you need a new one. You have any pic of it? I'd really like to see your setup. You do not have to take out the cells in a pro chassis if you use rob's pro kit.

Read the instructions again. I just checked my Mamba 25 ESC. The servo has nothing to do with the motor circuit. The receiver and servo need to be compatible.

Yeah from what I've heard the Mamba brushless system has powered a Mini-T to over speeds of 70+ mph and I've seen videos of them in action in a Mini-T and Micro RS4 they totally kick @$$ !!!

Oh contrare my dear fellow Xmodder... That brushless system is the best on the market right now for Mini- 1/18th scale RC cars... Said by RC Driver and Radio Controlled Car Action...

does it fit in the xmod like the 180 from atomic mods or does it require further modding. also is it best for accelleration or for top end speed

It needs some serious modding to fit, and you'd need to throw out all the stock electronics. It is best for acceleration AND top speed. It makes a brushed motor look like junk. It also runs extremely cool, because there is barely any friction on the arm.

They're pretty expensive. You'll need a motor and ESC, plus a servo, reciever, and controller.
