personally, i think the ball cup joints are disguistingly overpriced. i mean seriously. how much does it cost for a piece of alloy? even mini z alloy parts arent near that price id buy um for 10 bucks for all of them...not 1 of them.

I too am interested in the dogbone part, since I have a sick feeling about 5 li-ions ripping it to shreds.

Okay, 'ball joints' are usually found in suspension linkages.
You are talking about swingshafts/dogbones etc.
Why not drill the old one out, and insert a piece of steel piano wire the same thickness in place? A bit of CA glue to keep it in position and it should be stronger than ever.

or you could drill a new hole perpindicular (sp?) to the regular pin, then put 2 more notches in the cup. it would be sort of like a cv joint.
i think that the rear dogbone/cup assembly should be totally eliminated and put a u or cv joint in its place. then if we could build suspension arms like on touring cars then we could have toe and caster adjustment. but then we would need a second joint so that the driveline won't bind.
ill post pics if you dont understand.

A little birdie told me to expect aluminum AWD front dogbones in a couple of months. Dunno what price to expect, but it shouldn't be too far off the standard aluminum price range ($20-$30, I'm guessing)

Are you talking about these?
If you are I got some on order. Hope to see them before the end of this month or sooner.
BTW they won't be $20-$30

Ahh, those may be it. Are those GPM? I haven't seen those anywhere but desperately want to get a few pairs (I blew out two plastic ones in 10 minutes recently)
UPDATE: Ahhh, they are GPM. Very, very cool. I can't wait to get my hands on them. I like the price, too (3.50). Didn't see silver on your site, but I haven't seen those things anywhere else, but I hope they do come out in that color. I'm inching ever-closer to my dream an all-aluminum car(although I'm painting the ESC cover blue instead of silver just because I want a little bit of contrast), at least until GPM starts making a titanium line of parts, at which point, I'd have to start all over again.
