Thanks for the compliment. The wheels do turn and run fine. Not only that, but they're interchangeable with other Modifier wheels.

Yeah, those.
They sell a certain variety called Modifiers Deluxe (like this one) that come with 3 extra wheelsets. They list them as 17" or 18", and the ones on the car are listed as 15" I think. the 18" styles are too big, so i just looked for a set that had three 17" and only one 18". It's a fairly simple wheel mod. The Modifier hubs use screws for axles, so for the fronts you just screw them in to the knuckle. The rears require a donor axle and superglue, but it's no big deal. I think Bad Company did a tutorial on it a while back, Igot the idea from him.
I didn't need to shave any plastic on the Beetle, but it has larger than usual front wheel wells. While the wheels are solid and drive fine, if you were to put them on a mosfetted or dual celled chassis, you'd probably loose a wheel while driving. They are basically held on the hubs by pressure and friction of a rubber piece that encircles the hub. If you didn't care about being able to change them, you could glue the rims to the hubs and it would be like any other wheel.
