Okay! Now some of you are e-mailing me and asking me about the chassis, and you all get the same answer! This chassis is great and for any of u who r undecided wether or not u want to purchase it, if you wait too long it will be gone! Do urself a favor and buy it, these things are so strong and so much more lighter than the plastic stock chassis that u can even see the diferrence when driving, this is great!

Well, I just ordered mine, full-on pro-mod madness. Just need to get a receiver, ESC and servo. I think I should be able to just use my Kyosho Perfex transmitter with this setup, so that's what I plan to do for now.

Umm, follow this thread closely and you will see that the laydown chassis and the stock chassis are the same. You have to cut out the bridges that were kept for the stock electronics mounting, no biggy. The Mod upgrade gives you the battery plate and the servo plate. Both the stock and mod chassis's are the same part.
AA's haven't tried, I know for sure that the battery slots were not cut for the AA's diameter. I do know that 2 AA holders can be mounted outboard on the stock chassis for Li-Ion cells.

Glad you liked it!!! I noticed better handling after the conversion, too!!

imho..
I find it difficult to find the motivation to purchase this chassis, for 2 reasons.
1 it wont fit AA's laying down.
2 I can buy a xray m18 kit for 90.00 from my local hs.
and if I want to get a cf chassis for the m18 they ony cost $32.00.
www.teamxray.com
if the chassis was cheaper and acomidated AA size bats it would be a no brainer.

Depends on how many AA's, I've got 2 Atomicmods Li-Ions at 7.2 volts total on my mod chassis (batts and charger just came in today). That is 7.2 volts with a substantial weight reduction.
We did not design the chassis to use 4 AA's. We did design it to use all OEM equipment and allow the racer to step up to a laid flat AAA battery pack.
I would highly recommend the X-ray M18. A very stiff competitor in the 1/18 scale.
As far as price, if you make 20 kits the price is really high. If you make a 100, the price comes down a bit. If you make 200+, then the price is a lot lower. Modern CnC fabrication is accurate down to the thousands, but that accuracy comes with a price. Larger orders allow the shop to layer the raw material and gain production advantages. Of course the inverse is true.
Hope this gives you some insight into our design criteria

I noticed the change in handling when I change stuff like differentials and tires etc. What I want to know is how does a change in 'rigidity' help performance? And how much different to the stock chassis is it. Bear in mind that I dont mean the PRO version of the CF chassis.
