i got ya. i just crafted this one for a first run. i wanted to see how well 'air dampers' work for this aplication. they work great so i will try and find a good piece of carbon fiber or graphite to make the next one with so that i can have more mounting holes to get more shock angle choices. same for the rear

I was wondering what you did with the empty space where the stock mini-x suspension springs went. Do you have any trouble with that joint sliding now that the spring isn't there to act as a spacer?

I'm thinking about trying this out since I discovered that aluminum isn't terribly difficult to work with. Also, what part of the A arm did you attach to for the lower portion (front)? I saw your paperclip mount up top...

I'm working on a motor mount for a shaft mod that some people have done and its almost like the car was made for it :P You may have noticed that the mounting holes for the motor cover plate are higher than the ones by the rear diff. If you remove the cover plate and motor, and place the motor cover plate on the back two holes as a spacer, then it levels all four holes and would be perfect for mounting a motor. Of course if it all works out I'd probably hack off the excess, but in the meantime I won't be ruining the stock motor mount.

Heres a pic of my motor mount in progress: http://cstanleyw4.home.comcast.net/motormount_proto.jpg
The motor is pretty flush with it, but I still need to cut mounting holes to mount it to the car and cut a hole for the motor outdrive to go through.

kinda hard to explain but i basically made small cups on the lower a-arm for the suspension end to go into. much like the rs4 micro does it if you have ever seen it. as for the extra space i used brass tubes to make washers to fill the space

man i love paperclips!
