The Formula 34 has more low end torque for good acceleration, the R-Spec has more top end speed. I only have used the RSPEC 1 not the new RSPEC 2 version. The Formula 34 gets decent run times with a stock batt, my recollection is that the R-Spec seemed to be a little bit of a juice hog.

The Formula 34 has a somewhat unique quality, it coasts really well. There's other motors that coast well, but the F34 is the best at it. If you race on a track, this is an invaluable quality in keeping a fast line going without too much torque when you get back on it. I thought the R-spec and the R-spec 2 were just ok.

You're right Superfly, the F34's coasting quality makes it a very good race motor... The RS Purple 3.4 NX motors that I have seem to coast pretty good too.
