taking bearings out
hey i just got the RS bearings and i put them in, and they werent so fanfrikintastic, but anyways, i was taking them out and they were pretty hard to push out of there and i was wondering i know that your supposed to clean those suckers every once in a while and i was thinkin there pretty hard to get out and i dont thing that would be healthy for them to put that kind of force on those bearings and also there is alot of tear down takin those things out (all 14 of them). so anyway i was just wondering if people take all of the bearings out to clean them because that is a pain in the jibralter. also when you clean them, do you keep cleaning them with brake cleaner each time you clean them or something elso. and by the way, i did search for this but i couldnt find something that answered all my questions. mother johanson.

is that even a word? :searching through dictionary:
well I clean my bearings by diping them in WD-40 but I know others out there have used some other solutions to clean and protect (i think) them
I also hear alot of hype about the sealed bearings that are coming out from TinyRc, that keeps a good way to keep them clean and dandy
well i hoped this helped u out at least a bit?
o yea i use a small screwdriver to take the bearings out, and I pry it form the inside out but like u said, its a strain to the jibulawatever to try not to even scratch the darn thing

hey thanks for the replies! im using graphite so i just had to clean 2 of m bearings and i just put them into some brake cleaner for like a minute and then i shook them real good in a plastic coke bottle for a while with water in it and all the gunk/crap/crud fell right out. then i dried them off and put some more graphite in them and there perfect!

if you shook them in water you need to spray them with WD-40 after you put them in water. otherwise it may start to rust. and how did you dry them? let them sit on a paper towel? once you spray them with WD-40 let them sit and dry for an hour or two, then lube them with graphite.

They are selling bearing kits complete with 6 sealed bearings and 8 open bearings. The open bearings are better quality than the RS open bearings and the 6 sealed bearings will fit without mods on the outer wheel and the two inners up front(or in back, can't remeber). You could put the sealed bearings in the other areas, but you'll have to mod a bit in order to fit the 2.5mm sealed bearings in an area meant for a 2mm bearing

glad to help, i only said to use WD-40 because from what ive used (1 lube, WD-40) the WD-40 leaves a residue behind more than 1 lube. the 1 lube is kind of watery compared to the WD-40
