Aftermarket anyone?

Find some/more/new people to race with, do xmod projects etc. With Radioshack continuously out of parts, I believe that there are a lot of xmod gorups out there (I have a hard time finding them though).

Seriously, if you haven't already, set up a track and race with some friends. I just recently started doing this, and it's totally awesome! Its a completely different experience than darting around your kitchen floor. You'll need all the parts you have to experiment with different setups for different track configurations. Now I'm finding that my driving skill is what I need to upgrade. It's cool if your friends keep getting better too, then you always have to keep working to stay on top!

And just a note: you dont need $300 worth of foam to have a track. We race around the legs of a giant confrence table at work, and I've even set up a course using soup cans to mark corners. Any big low-pile carpeted area is great. I'm looking at buying some of the $2 packs of zip-zap road cones and setting up a course autocross style

There are loads of non RS parts you can buy for Xmods. Not to mention the things you can do on your own...

You hit the nail on the head!

The only limit is your imagination with these things.

I doubt that RS will come out with anything new for a while, simply because of how things are selling now. I just went down to my local RS and asked them about the bearings, when they will get them in. The guy behind the counter told me that they sold more than expected, their warehouse hasn't gotten restocked with most of the stuff.

RS will probably follow the industry standard and not mix things up until there is a dip in the X-Mod sales. Just like the Zip Zaps.
