Li-Ion

I've been looking for a source of AA sized Li-Ion 3.6v batteries. The guy over at Atmic Mods has them available, but at $19 per cell, I think he's over charging. I've found several other places that carry batteries of the same specs, but they're OEM or sell only to dealers and distributors. I expect these batteries to be expensive, but $19 seems a bit much. Has anyone else found another supplier, or at least a price comparison?

I have 4.2v lithium cells that'll fit under the xmods body with no modification, not a normal sized cell though(rectangular shaped but very small), put out about 1000 mah, may require a different charger, though. Email me or private message me for details ( i'll beat his price )

In the same line as the Li-Ion batteries, does anyone have a low voltage cut off circuit? Running the Li-Ion batteries to less than 20% or so is supposed to damage the batteries, no?

i can design a chip tha'll shut off at 20% rated voltage using a PIC microcontroller for about $25, just give me some time, i have finals coming up in about a week or two. I'm also working on a charger for the batteries, since there's no charger for a reasonable price.
here is a picture of the 1020 mah cell , puts out about 4.2v
max of 4c ( 4 times rated current ) or 5 amps

Super sweet, I would jump on that, if the prices are good.

I see the size but could 3 of those fit under the body of a XMod without to crazy of mods.
I know the limits of the stock Microcontroller, so no worries.

Here is a battery that might be more suitable if you are planning to try and fit several under the car. it has the same voltage output , just less current , 700 mah( still as good as the RS aaa cells though ) remeber, these batteries NEED SPECIAL RESPECT, you need to watch them while they charge and don't let them get below 20% rated voltage or stay in a hot car or warm area, LITHIUM is the active word in the phrase LITHIUM batteries, it is one of the most reactive element known to man ( seriously, i only think potassium is worse )

Those would probably be perfect...........

Yeah unfortunetly they are very delicate and pulling them down to low can kill them.

Nice, very nice.

what's the highest steady current draw it can safely handle? i remember this site selling li-poly's about the same size as yours and theirs could handle about 2.5 Amps of constant draw, with about 3 to 4 Amps of maximum momentary draw
