battery idea
didnt know if this should be here but it seems like it would fit. i was just thinking about my microsizers and duel cells, and i want to add batteries to my xmod. what if you wired the 2 holdering in the xmod in parrelell, then used a whole bunch of 1/3 AAA. it would = a total of 7.2 volts and if you had 200 mah batteries you would also have 400Mah, it wouldnt be great run time but it would be fast. you wouldnt have the weight of 6 cells, yet you'll have the voltage. i dont know if this would really work, with good results, but i thought it would be cool

good idea bad execution
your explanation is a bit hard to decipher but I assume that you mean you'd wire the extra 1/3 AAA or N size batteries in parallel and then hook them up in series to the stock 4 aaa batteries. I'd be like mixing cells of different mAh and would just run like total garbage. If you were talking about wiring anything else in parallel, then it just plain won't work.

sorry for not being understood
i ment that you would take 12 1/3 AAA batterys and have them in the xmods stock battery holders. but the 2 holders would be rewired so they ran in parrellel. so you would have 7.2 volts with low weight

Yeah, I thought of doing the same thing, or something similar. The reason I didn't was because I later found out the internal resistance of a 1/3AAA battery is almost 2X that of a AAA battery. This means you would have 7.2V to start with and then when you hit the throttle for WOT the battery resistance would significantly lower the voltage output to the motor (down to like 5V or so). This is the big battery trade-off, more no-load voltage is not the right answer always. The best thing to get would the the KAN-AAA ultra low internal resistance batteries. Using a 4 cell KAN set-up you might be able to beat guys with 6 cell IC3 set-ups. The only problem is that I can't find anyone here in the US who sells them. Or, there is always lithium-ion battery packs (too expensive and too dangerous for me to mess with).
