dude my jaw just smacked the floor, lol that is the sickest thing ive ever seen!! my only doubt would be that the plastic gears will melt when attached to that monster.... thats gotta be a 540 size.. lol if i were you , buy a motor for the hpi racers (non gas) if those go 40mph+ a xmod should easily do 50 lol
i found this site and i must say wow! some of these motors are hardcore
http://www.financialsearchgroupinc.c...4061,1,ur.html
im going to my lhs with about 30bux for a motor, whats should i get (stock fets and volts arent my concern any more) what motor would the best to pop in a xmod to take advantage of a new set of powerful fets (neuro's mod) from this site i like the team orion core, tamiya dyna run and the trinity magic johnson... btw i also will be modding and screwing with my b.b.j.m (the one that was in the pix)

*smacks head* I ment to ask if you still had proportional throttle, not steering.

This relay stuff made me have an idea for a nitrous mod...
Could you somehow rig a relay so it would require a full throttle signal from the electronics to flip on? Then you could hook your extra cells to the relay so they would only work if you were at full throttle.
In other words, you'd have full propo 4 cell power untill you floored it, then the extra cells would kick in.
This would kinda be like a "real" car nitrous setup. It's common to put your nitrous on a microswitch behind the gas pedal so it only kicks in when you and the engine are ready (already flooring it)
does anybody know for sure how the speed controler controls the motor? Is the voltage constant, with the signal just pulsing as mentioned above?
...i may start another thread

can i ask why you're still using stock electronics?

The switch for nitrous oxide that goes behind the pedal does not automatically give you a shot of No2, when your are going WOT(wide open throttle) then you can hit the "N0S!1!" but not when it is onlt partial throttle.
Why would you want power that only comes on at high rpm's? It would disturb traction and power wouldn't be linear, it would be gay. Just wire in extra cells and pull harder when you want it to go faster
EDIT: Sorry about thread jacking, some systems do not use the tps sensor but a switch mounted on the actual throttle plate where the cable actuated spool thing will engage the switch, this is the way it is on my friends chevy. But you can mount a switch anywhere you want to. Or if you want to get technical you can get a computer controlled system that will analyze you maf, tps, egt and adjust advance.

just cause it would be a fun thing to try to do. And it wouldnt only hit at high rpm's, just whenever you pulled the throttle all the way. If you "floored" it from a dead stop you would be using the extra cells from the get go.
There are a bunch of people on here who have been trying to do a nitrous mod. This just seemed like the closest thing
...And I have seen it where the pedal switch IS what triggers the "NOS!" after you flip a saftey switch on the dash. Only ricers need a big red button on the dash for nitrous.

sorry guys, but there is no "pedal switch" in either case. some systems will activate after a safety switch has been thrown, but the system's computer feeds off info from the TPS and determines whether you are at 100% throttle or not.

Guys, please don't hijack this thread with an argument about how real life NOS works, it's not relavent.

wasnt my intent... just keeping the facts out there, to STOP the thread jacking... anyways, back to the original topic.

Sooo... does anybody know if there is any way to tell if you are at full throttle by reading voltage anywhere in the car? Or is there some other signal I could use to activate my relay at full throttle?
I want it to be non-linear. I wanna know "hey, there's the 'nitrous' " when it kicks in. I would only use it for straight line dashes anyway, and use the lower power propo when handling
I figure this is still a similar idea, I appologize to the admins if it is not. Just say the word and I'll make a new thread.

It would be difficult. You can't read voltage to know when you're at WOT, because the voltage stays the same. The frequency of the voltage changes. Using relays in this manner would be an "always on" "nos" for you. Unfotunately, the function of NOS doesn't translate well into electronics.

Big Block is my fast But not for long
Yes the Big Block is quick , but it's to darn cold out " - 10 "to race it outside and theres snow on the ground I had an idea to make an Ice Racer to race on the ice skateing pond by my house . You can take some very small nails and press the threw the backs of the wheels to make spikes in the tire's for grip Ok back to the subject . I pick up a 540 can called a Vemon Fireball the other day I got it running with the relay upgrade , and i couldn't believe how powerful this thing was! It has to be ten times more powerful then the Big Block and it only costed me 15.99 . They also rised the price of the Big Block at my hobbie shop to like 39.99 . I think they rised it because it fits perfertly in the new mini T . Man the wife is nagging for me to get off the computer Got to go

lol thats awsome, but i saw how big it is, for me id be a lil unwilling to do this because first if have to rework the drivetrain, and second id have a heck of a time getting the body down, were did you get the motor?
