If you want to reduce weight, and go a lot faster, and like Li-Ion...
If you guys don't mind doing Li-ion battery mods on your Xmods, modding the bodies to fit them, reducing weight a little, and getting a special charger for the Li-ion battery, let me get you started:

There's a good Li-ion battery.

I've got six of these to play with. 3.6 volts and 550 mah each Li ion polimer. Now I just need a charger. Does the $5 have a smart charge control or does it rely on the cell for charge control?

ninja : is that the guy from atomicmods? common 40 bux for batts... id rather buy the nml motor
the batteries seem big, it looks as if they will just fit between the wheels, but i could be wrong... whats the stock xmod mah aint it like 850? so smaller li-ions are possible, i will hunt them down and post

that battery is too long, too wide, and too thick. if you mount it, you'll proably mount it above teh chassis and even then it could be a tight fit with the body

They are thin enough I can get 2 on each side but will have to cut a notch in the body so the batts can stick out. I'm thinking of making a 4wd track/drag car to test the limits and using li ion's, and chopping the body so it won't matter if they stick out a bit.
Now if any one can recommend a charger that won't fry the batteries before i get them in the car...

I have been ordering parts from all electronics for a long time (since grade school). Good people. And the parts, batts and anything else you buy from them are good quality. So if you shop there you are getting your money worth.

Guys, Guys, Guys...
What I'm saying is that you remove the current battery cases from the Xmod, and find some way to mod the holder so that the Li-ion battery will fit!
Good Grief!
