$20 new X-Mod!!!

im estatic about this new RSX i got last night. the only thing wrong with it was that a wire was broke between the 2 PCBs re soldered it and its as good as new. it was only missing the clips that hold the batteries in. now if i order some new electronics for my civic ill have 2 xmods

If I'm not mistaking, it Return Merchandise Authorization Code, or something similar to that.

After reading this post a few days ago, I decided to call around to some of my local RS stores to see if I could score one of these returns. I didn't call the two in my town, as both stores have diehard Xmod RS employees and I'm sure they cabbage onto the returns as soon as they come in. One of the stores in another town said that they "smash them", while the one literally across the street in the mall had a black Civic that had been returned. The guy didn't know what was wrong with it, but said that if I come by and pick it up, he'd just give it to me. Needless to say, I rushed right over. I also left my business card with my cell phone number and he's supposed to call me if he gets any more in.

I found out that the only thing wrong with the Civic was that the rear diff sounded like it was slipping when cornering. I took the diff apart, put a piece of black tape in to "lock" it up, and everything works fine and dandy.

It would probably cost $8 to ship it.

I can't control 2 cars at the same time anyway.

I didn't notice more power with 4 I-C3's comepared to 4 alkalines, but the run time is sooooo much longer. Rayovac says they charge in 15 OR less. I haven't found time to time them.

You can get a 2 cell charger for $20 and 4 AAA's for $13.

You can probably get 84 AAA alkalines for $35.

So if you plan to run your car more than 21 times...

And you can sell your I-C3 stuff b/c it's all reusable, unlike alkalines.

And...If you have or plan on buying another car, you should buy the $27 4 cell charger and a set of AAA's for each car.

I have 3 cars and 12 I-C3's now. I regret getting the 2 cell charger.

I got mine from Wal-Mart. I would go with custom battery setup if you change the voltage. I would go with I-C3's if you go with simple 4, 5, or 6 AAA's.

I'm gonna talk to the idiot guys at the store closest to me, b/c the RS I usually go to, the guys don't get many returns. The RS in Westwood, NJ is great! Anyone who lives near them and is dissatified w/ their RS should go there. Unlike most of the stores I've been in, these guys actually know what they're talking about!
