I think this topic has gotten a little out of hand to be in the Xmod forum, and it really doesn't fit in the Misc. Tiny RC forum.....

LOL, is that your dog? Can these cars outrun a dog? I've never had an r/c bigger than 1/24th scale.

Oh yeah! Mine runs around 35 to 40mph but the newer Nitro Rustlers with the 2.5 engine will run 50 mph out of the box. Mine is a 1/10 scale. My dog is pretty fast but she can't quite catch my rusty unless I have to stop to refuel or flip or something. hehe!

Nice duratrax ViperKid. At first glance I thought the white sands were snow. Very cool buggy.

I guess I missed this thread somehow... Must've been the x-mod title... Looks like we got more in common than I thought.. I'm a nitro man though.

Nice Tmaxx. I wanted to get one of those myself, but was a little scared off by the whole constant tuning thing of nitro's. But now that I have a little more "bigger" RC experience, I have been considering buying a nitro RC. I really like the Nitro 4Tec though. A 60+ mph street car out of the box!

I know nitro can get a bad rep, but they're really not that hard to tune... There are 3 screws to turn. HSN (high speed needle) LSN (low speed needle) and the idle screw.
I've seen what you're capable of BC, and you should be able to master the basic tuning skills required in 10 min tops... Nitro is for you.. It might not be for all, but you have more rc experience than most..
I almost got a nitro 4 tec, but I opted fot the truck cause I like off roading, and on the road, and the 4tec is pretty much on road only...
The T/E maxx trucks can be set up for both.
I couldn't even imagine driving that 4 tec at 70mph.. Insane.... And for some reason they left the reverse off the 4 tec.
I mean, how long can you drive at 70 before the car can't be seen anymore? lol 2 or 3 sec bursts.

if you like high speed rc cars, you might want to check out rc planes........the jets with dual turbines are crazy fast! 300mph!
i saw a F-18 model with twin turbines (it was the RAM Turbines demo team plane).........it is just crazy........though, that can get really expensive when the turbines are $1000+ each.....
ill stick with my EDF MiG-15......
