a more NOS'like' idea

I read somewere on here that there is a fluid that you put in slot cars and it makes the motors really fast for a couple sec. My idea is that you could have some type of tank with this fluid in it and it would drip slowly into your motor. I don't know if this would work or if it would ruin your motor, so tell me what you think.

You'd need to (1) find out if this actually exists, what it is, and whether or not it'd work with the XMODS motors, (2) make a tank and hose system for the inside of the car, and (3) somehow make up the weight that system will put on by chutting other stuff off.

If it's only a few-second boost, it's probably not worth the trouble.

yeah i agree and i will do that sometime soon.

it would be a constant boost because the fluid would constantly drip into the motor. i thin that the weight of the system would easy be nothing compared to the boost. i will look it up.

it sounds like this is something for nitro cars, like a higher octane fuel. i dont think theres any kind of electric motor that can be better running with some liquid dropped into it, but i may be wrong.

it could be some kind of super conductive oil. then a new problem arises, does the motor "eat" it or does it drip out the bottom. if it just drops out the bottom youll need to make a way to protect the electronics.

well, in my nitro rustler, i run 30 percent. it makes the engine run hotter, but it gives more power. for a elec MOTOR (btw, im sick of seeing wrong terminology. MOTOR is for electrics, ENGINE is for gas), u would need someway to channel that power. no product dripped on to the engine will do anything. it will be more of a hindrance than a help. but if u want like a router and u have an extra servo, then u could get the throttle up, then open it up all the way with a button. that would be likw a nos kinda thing. my dad's friend's son did something like that to his HPI sprint.

but then that would require a whole new electronic system and a reciever w/ 3 channels

I heard about these on the mini z boards. The tester swore by it, and it sounded believable. Not that it made a world of difference, but it helped. Maybe it was some special conductive com drop.

You can also use special commutator or com drops in your motor, which are suggested for use a drop every now and then. They help, a little, I think. Any LHS should have them.

I have some stuff around the house called "Formula 96". I had it for my 1/10 RT-10T. You put some on the communicator to help break in the brushes, I think...

Yeah those are com drops and other motor treatments.

You can cool off your batteries and motor with canned air if you know how to spray it right...

I'm not too sure if you need the liquid. It seems to do funny stuff when it actually drips out. Plus, if a lot of it gets on your fingers, it hurts like hell (happened to me before). I have tons of cans of this cheaper stuff and if you tilt it down a little, it lets out a little more mist than usual and can make the motor cool off.

drips out? mine comes out like a bat out of hell. i sprayed it onto an old cd spindle case and it started to get frost all the way through it. i also used to play with my ZZs & test their areodynamics with the stuff until it burnt me.
