Finding Room?
Ok well today i did my 5 cell mod........and i cant find a single place for the fifth cell except taking the rear bumper off and taping the holder in its place. This is the RED Toyota Supra.I'm running the drag motor with the upgrade heatsink....i tried placing it sideways where the lights would go sliding a little into the space above the rear body clip. The heatsink gets tin the way though! I know theres many topics on this already but every way i find doesnt work. Can someone post pictures of how they did their supra?I also have the lights in screwed to one post turned sideways for more room. Also i eventually plan on doing the six cell if not now.

hey 93supra owner,
can you tell me how you did your 5 cell mod? I mean did you find a single 'AAA' cell holder? i have the 2cell holder, but I want a single "AAA'" holder...they don't sell those here. My friend does not recomend cutting the 2 cell holder in half....

Trim away all the plastic inside the rear bumper, and glue the bumper to the body instead. There's plenty of room for two additional cells when you do it this way. It works for the Civic and the Supra, but not an RSX. Not sure about the Skyline.

You can't get a single AAA holder, you have to get a double and cut it up a bit.

There's a few places to put it accualy. You can put the light kit in place of the tan cover in the front that covers the suspension. Pics are in the next post.

I just walked to the back of the store and got the covered two cell box (the one with the lid not realizing they sold others) i just took some snips (well actually a hand saw ) and cut one side off.....then took the trusty dremel and sanded like a beast to make everything paper thin on the holder......ill be posting pics sometime today of my car...just finishing the 5th cell up.

i stuck a 5th cell in my red supra. i trimmed some of the plastic on the battery holder then i sanded some of the plsatic on the bumper and used velcro to hold teh battery holder in the bumper. if i decide not to do any mods that woudl need me to take off the rear bumper, i think i will glue the bumper and spoiler to the body and remove a lot more plastic and maybe fit my 2 cell holder in there but for now, 5 cells is plenty fast for indoors not to mention the rear weight bias is a lil much already even with the main batteries pushed as far forward as possible..
