Oh yes...I've done it!
I've done it!!! I've finally found a way to mount "model" bodies more securely, cheaper, and no valcro! The best part is it will work for any body and no matter what you have for a ride it will always be and never unless of course that's what you want...it's all up to you. Four simple drilled holes in the chassis of "any" Xmod, eight Xmod screws, and of course the multi function special ingrediant that makes the whole thing in one word SWEEEEEEEEET!!!! I will have my Porche 911 done by this coming weekend. I want it to be perfect before I let everyone see it again. I have also been taking notes and pictures and will put up a whole new thread called "mounting the right way...no valcro!"...or something close to that. Anyway it will be posted by me "josh350zman" or "350ZMan" on Xmodworld.com and I will have all the photoes posted on my website where the current picture is. Oh yes...I will be the Xmod God of body mounting!!! However I can't take all the credit as my brother-in-law other wise known as "supraz" is also in on the gig and he will be doing a Dotsun 510...soon to come. Body mounting slightly different, but same concept! Stay tuned!!!

I'd love to see pictures of your car when it's done...please post some or e-mail them to me.
I also thought of using the exsisting clip, but with some bodies the clip just wont work...IE, my Porche 911.
With my idea...it will work with littarally any body. It does take some fabrication like using the exsiting clip, but nothing too serious. When it's done and I post...let me know what you think.

get the body and find out how much diff the wheel wells are and then you need to make a plate out of metal sheet that size so you can extend your car and then get the material to make a longer drive shaft and do it to

My pics soon to come
I have the answer for you...you'll have to wait until my pics come out this weekend, but if your car already fits the body...my mounting technique still works. You need not add any metal of any kind and the one secret ingrediant that you need cost $0.60.
For anyone looking at this thread...VELCRO...IS NOT THE WAY TO GO??? If it's just a show piece I guess it's fine, but if you actually plan on racing it...it just won't do.

Ran into time issues...
I've had no time to finish the perminant mounting, but I did put an earlier picture of the mounting template on my website. What your're looking at is plastic tubing cut and bent to size to fit exactly where my drilled holes on the chassis are. The body simply sets on top and then you just screw it on from the bottom of the chassis.
Like I said this is just the template...the real brackets are made from metal tubing, but still waiting on supplies and I still haven't gottten my new axil from RS yet.
I only put the picture of the templare out because I said I'd have something for today. Hope it makes sence! I think it will when it's all done.
