New to the board, HI GUYS!

what's up, fellas? For my birthday, my housemates got me a cool little Shen Qi Wei Skyline (along with a bottle of whiskey, but that's another story). Anyway, now i'm really interested in buying some Bit Char-Gs but I can't find any stores that sell the real thing in my area. I could order them online, but i'd rather see the actual item and pay cash. Is anyone from the Westchester NY area? And do you know where the nearest seller would be?

Hi and the only cars you can get here are clones or Microsizers. You can only get Bit Char-G online.

And if you see microsizers (they're available at target), they're the exact same thing as the Bit Char-G, only the US release. Hobbico is officially licensed from Tomy (maker of the BC-G's) to sell the cars, under the brand name MicroSizers. So MicroSizers are exactly the same thing, and you can pick them up at any Target, and most Hobby Shops, that way you don't have to pay insane over-sea shipping for the Tomy versions. Welcome to the forums!

thanks for replying guys, i actually found out the info about Hobbico an hour before you guys posted, but it's all good.. i never knew it was available at Target. I found a KBToys like 10 minutes from my house that sells them too, so i'll pick one up tomorrow. I think i'm going to buy the Mitsubish Lancer EVO VII, but I'd really like to have a Porsche 911 Turbo. Do they sell the Porsche under the Hobbico name? Also, what engine comes with the Lancer?

All MS Pro series come with 2.2 motors (22,000rpm), the Sport series (clear bodies) comes with a 1.6, or 16,000rpm motor. No, the 911 body isn't available yet in the US for MicroSizers, but you can get them from www.Toyeast.com, although shipping is a little expensive. Look under: MicroRC>Micro RC Tomy>Pullback>TOMY SUPER BCG PULLBACK COLLECTION PORSCHE 911 GT2

And while you're at it, look at the 'Perfection' brand parts under LXX, they make 4.2 motors, 200mAH NiMH batteries (your stock battery is 50mAH NiCD), nice looking heatsinks, and bodies, not to mention their own line of cars, the Super Perfection series.

I would get all that from the shop here, including your microsizer. Plus they have motors and batteries.

the only place I know of is Toyeast.com (toyeast is owns Perfection & LXX) but toyeast does some auctions on ebay, and they might have lower shipping charges. I think somebody once mentioned a place that sold toyeast things in the US.

well i went to KBToys and bought my microsizer, they had a total of three there, and they were all S2000 sports.. so i'm stuck with this little transparent orange S2000 until i go get a new body, but the selection was absolute rubbish. Beyond that, i'm not disappointed at all. I got the thing for $16.

keep in mind that good ol' Rad Shmack has Zip Zap tuneup sets with motors and rears that will work on your shen too.

About a year ago MY first car was a shen, and my first mod was from a Zip Zap Fast & Furious set.
(I transplanted the gear I wanted from the ZZ axle onto the shen axle to keep the wheels matched.)
After I did this, I did a search on the net to see if anyone else was doing this stuff, and I found TinyRC, and a cool community of folks who also enjoy these tiny cars.

I hope you get as much from this great site as I have.
Welcome!

Why do you so firmly believe that? There are stores that sell originals, but aren't advertised.

If you get in your car, and drive around to see what's out there, you'd know they're available in the states... Just not as much as the clones.

Haven't you seen any off Mhz clones in the mall? Those are illegal too, but doesn't stop Habib from selling in the states.

Shop around.

Have you noticed I am 14 and have a $100 bike that the chain falls off when you go faster than 20 miles an hour which I regularly do quite easily. If I am not tired I may be able to hold 20 for 5 - 10 minutes. Not anywhere near fast enough to get to my lhs by noon (starting at 7:00 am, assuming I can't time travel! lol!)

I'm back (finally). My family and I went to NY to spend Christmas with relatives. I suppose that we're in the same boat, I got a MS sport for christmas too (frost 49mHZ), because my PRO just broke. They are pretty slow stock so I popped my 4.2 in there and WEEEHAAAA!!! BIG improvement. Next up is a S2 MOSFET modfrom microAmps and painted up body. However, I find that the stock 1.6 is nice for 'table-top' racing, but I got bored of it and put my 4.2 in it. Anyways, you should try to get a 4.2 motor set from Toyeast, and maybe a 200mAH battery. Or you could support and get an R-Spec II (3.6-3.8 performance) or a Formula 34 (3.4). Both I have heard to have slightly more torque than the 4.2s.
