If the Crest Spinbrush motor was an XMOD motor what stage do you guys think it would be in??

the spinbrush motor would be a fractional stage...ya know, less then stage 1. Probs like 1/3 stage...pushing like 14,000rpm

Dude stop denying the fact that it's a good motor. Your just jealous cause these guys got a great motor for $3.99 and you paid $40 for your NML so jsut shut up dude.

It is rather easy to open the SBP brush.. all you have to do is take a hammer and break open the bottom part.
I now only use the SBP motor in all 4 of my xmods. They are cheap buy very fast. Well not very fast, but the torque is a killer.... I use the 10 and 9 gear tooth on mine.
I did a test with the zip zap track tester using stock stage 2 and SBP motor.
(fpm= feet per min) (mpm= miles per min)
Stage 2 red = fpm=721, mpm=532
Stage 2 yellow = fpm 683, mpm=494
SBP red gear = fpm=800, mpm=587
SBP yellow gear = fpm=834, mpm=603
this is an avg. of 4 runs each.
10 foot drag strip with the zip zap speed checker set at the end.
I've also swap parts around and found that it really increase the speed and torque of the motor. I'm at school right now, and don't have the records with me.
but if your using the SBP motor, you will need to take the brushing off from one of the stock and put it into the SBP... other wise it will burn the brushing only after a few run.....
If ppl say that the SBP motor isn't fast. they are right, but the motor has crazy torque... from stand still to top speed is really quick, all you have to do is change the gear to a higher one to even out the torque with speed.
i've raced 6 ppl so far and haven't lost once, maybe a few times to my little bro who also has the same motor. Plus the motor does not heat up as fast as the stock ones do.

You are correct sir. Leave everything soldered to the brushes, and just desolder the caps from the motor can itself. Swap the whole thing over to the spin brush can.

I've heard using a stage 2 armature makes for event better performance. Apperently the magnets are the only thing the Spin Brush motor has that is special, other than that it is pretty normal. And $4 .

In the outskirts of Harleysville. About 10 minutes away from Souderton.
