Arrow Weight

I think that these cars would handle a lot better if you move around and eliminate some of the weight they have on them.

Some of my Ideas for losing weight and lowering the center of gravity can be read in this thread. I will list some main ideas for those who don't wanna read the other thread.
My idea is to make the chassis into a pan chassis, cut out the windows of my body, and somehow relocate or use a different battery.

What about wiring the layman dual cells in parrallel for more runtime, more current, and you could mount them in the bottum of the chassis for a lower center of gravity.

I was thinking though and if I did the button cells in parralel i could put them flat on the buttom of the chassis and put the pcb right on top of it.

lowering/ lightening my clear skyline body

Has anyone done mods like these? I have read that some of you(and me) can tell the difference in handling between two bodies. If you can tell that diference, imagine the difference these mods would make.

The reason I am bringing this back up is that I really think that with all those mods done, The car would handle completey different, hopefully in a better way.

I don't know if the miniscule amount of lowering you can do to these things will make much difference in the handling, to be honest.
The battery is already installed about as low as it can be without being under the car!

It's been my experience that combining spring suspension with different types of wheels has been the best way to get better performance.

So far, small wheelsets seem to do best, although I have a dual cell with full size wheels that handles great.

The best I've found yet is a custom made wheelset using slot car wheels.

About the battery, I was thinking of using one or two laymans cells, and laying them flat on the bottom of the chassis.

Even if I can only remove a gram or so from the car, that is about 5% of weight removed.

You don't think that will make a performance gain?

... no.... ~LoL~ ... its just cuz bits are just too light for weight lightening to cause any really performance gains

could lookhere for some ideas.
a better idea, along with chassis cutting, might be to add weight to the bottom, probly with putty.

I've seen that sight. Those mods seem to work for him. The idea of adding weight to the bottom would be my laymans cells idea. I want to put two of them in parralel laying flat on the bottom of the chassis.

I personally add more weight to my cars..
they are too light already in my opinion... heh... With more weight and a little more power, they are more like a real car... (only my opinion)
