Unhappy Lights Problem....

I got two Blue LED's that I hooked up to my car. First I had it hooked up to the motor. It worked good but, just before top speed , the lights would go out. How can I make it stay on when I hit the trigger?

This morning, I tried to splice them into the command lights, but it did not go on. Am doing something wrong? Can anyone help me?

Thanks...

Everything was off. fresh batteries. Thanks for the replies everyone. Now the problem is that the blue LED's don't glow brightly, just dim.... even after looking and following Bc's tutorial, it still is dim...

xc/zz, the lights are going to be put in the bumper.

blues need more voltage or somthing... because of the color it produces... same with some other colrs... some LEDs power up with less voltage... like reds... the whites take a little more... and blues are more yet...

you burned the led's. trust me, i've done it a couple of times. i bought two different yellow led's. i gave it about 2 volts and it looked amber. in my past experience hihg quality led's can usually exceed their max rated voltage (a blue 5mm led from RS rated for about 4-5 volts is running off 12 volts in my computer for the past 2 years) so i went to a bit over 2 volts and they shut off. giving it 2 volts made it very dim. btw, i never got yellow light from either led's, they were always amber

This may be a moot point but, if you want a coloured light... why not just cut a small piece of stage light gels out and poke into the light holes up front, then use the RS light kit to make it glow?
