Mini-Z compared to X-mods
Hey its me again,
Ive been looking into this whole RC cars thing.
heres a few questions I have, some people say tha mini-Z are alot faster than the Xmods. X-mods go around 12-18mph. Anyone know the speed for MiniZs?
Are most parts interchangeable? Mainly rims, tires, ect...
MiniZ's cost ALOT more than Xmods but i just want to know.
Also, I am looking for unwanted Rims from X-mods or Mini-Z(if compatible). If you have any please let me know. PM me or email at ephraim_sng@yahoo.com

X-mod speed
I have the Red Supra with a stage2 yellow motor in it right now and I find 12-18mph to be a great exageration. I haven't timed mine yet to be sure, but I would have to guess it's more the 7-10mph range. I raced it against a stock Rustler and there was no contest, not even remotely close and a stock Rustler goes between 18-22mph.

LOLOLOL...you must have no idea what your talking about.....LOL...7-10mph....dont make me laugh...I put my RSX (with a Stage 2, 10 tooth, bearing, suspension, and soft treads) on my treadmill, crancked it up to the max (15mph) and dropped the car on it as i was holding the trigger and it just shot up to the front...i let the trigger go so that is went to the end of the treadmill...pulled the trigger and once again it flew up to the front. Your xmods must be screwed up or something because im sure mine could do 20mph or more...another thing...lube your bearings with powdered graphite...works best and doesn't attract dust

miniz are higher quality than a xmod and they are faster because they are lighter and have a simpler drive train plus they use finer picth teeth which makes them smoother plus the turning radius is alot better and with the mr-02 chassis the batteries sit alot lower

it's a basic question really...in one, you get $50 worth electronics, chassis etc and in the other your get $100 worth electronics, chassis etc.
there is no point really in comparing things that are in different classes.
that being said, i don't hink anyone wants to see another lengthy bout of this is batter than that... both are probably the best for their price range.

I definately like my mini-z more than my x-mod, but I am still glad I bought the x-mod. My mr-02, or an f-1, will more likely be around the $150 range. You get a much better micro servo, TX, steering is quick and responsive, chassis is much more lighter, mods are already out like crazy (even on the mr-02), many bodies to chose from. I can't tell speed, since I put in a stage 2 motor before trying the stock motor on the x-mod, but the 11-t pinion on the x-mod seems to measure up to a 7-t pinion on my z. I use a 130-a-bb motor on my z so I didn't use the stock one too long. Unfortunately, all that speed broke my motor mount chassis into many pieces. I have a replacement on the way, but man am I bummed out and I'll be playing with the x-mod for the next week I guess. I hate waiting for parts to get here.
Check out the dynamite rocket racers! They are cheap and it looks like they got the x-mods beat pretty well. Their price, though it used to be expensive, has dropped between that of an x-mod and a z, but sports the nice features of a z. They have their own forum in here, but since the US manufacturing is discontinued, there isn't so much activity with them. I saw them on stormer hobbies for a decent price.
