change the batteries?
these are nickel metal hydride (rechargeable) they recharge in under 5 minutes and last for about 15 minutes of full throttle racing...and I will make a list of all the stuff used and the prices and where to get them after its all finished!

charging batts
I know from racing 1/10 scale touring cars you charge the batts with aligator clips from a peak charger, unless he puts a connector on the batts. With that size batteries he probably want to adjust the volt charge to .5amps to only 1.0amps.

I've put a servo and a speed control on my car that broke. It ended up being RWD and i had to cut the shaft in order to fit the servo in. the speed control sat on top of the servo and the receiver was stuck on the inside rear bumper. It worked fine but my speed control was cheap and broke. I'm problably going to re do the whole car again. I'll have pics sometime soon. The steering and throttle feel WAY better. I used a cirrus mirco servo, an Orion flash speed control, and a Futaba digital radio system. I'll probably get it goin when i get more money for another speed control.

errr.....waitaminute
IMHO, once you rip out ALL the guts, save for the chassis and wheels, it's really no longer an XMOD is it?????? You should've just saved some bux by buying a blank mini-z chassis and a crystal to match one of your controllers and then cannibalized the broken mini-z cars

I love my mini z and it'll smoke my xmod but the xmod has awd and thats what made me buy it. If you want to have it 2wd then yeah buy a mini z but but for awd you have this and a mini x. (I kind wish I got one of those though.) but the xmod is pretty good for 70 bucks with an awd kit. I have the same idea kingcobra has an awd 1/24 scale car with "hobby grade" electronics.
