4wd kit

3.0 tie rod

bearing upgrade

blue (stiff springs front), yellow (medium springs rear)

hard slick tires front and back

red stage2 motor

batteries shifted far back

gave the rear suspension a little negative camber (i'll explain that later)

and most importantly - FRESH batteries

is my setup and here's the link to prove the setup.rsx drifting (surface is clean, and drifting is done with out "tape")

um softer springs in the front give more bite. so you want a soft front and a stiff rear. that generally is the way to set it up. if these things had sway bars then one on the back would help out too ;P

i think your rsx is drifting just because it is a toy. if you used all soft or all hard or what ever, chances are it will still do a donut or spin around, thats one thing i dont like about this scale of cars

dont get me wrong i still play with my xmod, minix and miniz

There is NOTHING wrong with tape. Ive probably done longer drifts on tape with stock springs, tires, tie rod, bearings, and tires than people who spend the extra $$$ to get all that. Also just to prove nothing is wrong with it I also did it on tile....tile sucks lol its the only surface I have but jeez i can really show some people up considering im on tile.

Then again im not going to say all those upgrades suck and dont work im just saying that tape works more than good for me

Yet some mods are ok to have like awd and higher stage motor than stock.

If your tight on money and got awd slap some tape on it and make sure you have a straight away and a nice turn and your set....

of course it's a toy, thats why i bought it....

the negative camber (and spring setup) is there for when i don't want the car to drift. the car won't drift w/out a "feint" motion anyways (swaying the car to initiate the drift), so i have it set so that i can grip the corners when i need to.

My current drift setup is:
AWD Upgrade
3.0 tie rod
Blue springs all around
tape on the rear tires
Soft treads on the front

Haven't tried this yet, but I see no reason for it not to work.

i was doing some crazy drifts earlier today.

i used

hard springs all around
3.0 toe in
soft tread tread
red motor stage 2
bearings
and with 2 wheel drive

also you need some very very dusty tile floor. on this floor i was getting minimal grip and with a tad of turn at full speed i was drifting for a good 4 feet

my floor is dusty but not enough to be dubbed "very very very dusty". Its real minimul but im getting *goes and measures spots* about 4-6 feet of good drift on a full battery charge.

I just bought the RS charger for the NiMH so i hope ill get some even better ones today..ill post back
