Something I learned in architectural model building- make a test peice out of a cheaper material- like a cerial box- and use it for a template before you start cutting.

Uhh, gee thanks Radio Shack.
Yeah I kind of do that but I just draw the part up then print it to scale and check it, If I have to I can even cut and fold the piece.
There is a lot more to it that the paper model will not show, but for this chassis I'm going straight to the fiberglass when I feel it's ready since I dont have aluminum the same thickness as the fiberglass sheet(parma chassis material).
I'm already planning on just cutting the main chassis piece first then follow up after with the front/rear top plates.
I used to cut pieces by drawing them up and fitting them then print it out on a full sheet of label paper and stick it to the aluminum sheet and drill/cut/file.It worked good and I could duplicate parts easy.(hmmm- I dont do that now)
