more steering please
Is anyone else having trouble with the amount of steering? Anyone try the tie rod upgrade? The wheels just don't turn far enough, especially when I'm turning right.
The longer tie rod would increase the range of the outside (while cornering) wheel but it will decrease the range of the inner wheel. Anybody have any other ideas?

Try softer mini-z tires in the 10-15 degree range. The wides will fit but are just a touch too wide, leave the excees to the outside.
The only real problem is the center ring on the rim. I'll probably end up sanding it off so I can use the wider selection of treaded and slicks for the mini-z's.
Otherwise it rounds out the tire profile and reduces your contact patch. The 10's worked fine for about 60 seconds until the raised profile of the ring got dirty and then the steering went way down.
Guess you could mount the rims with a mandrel into a dremel and grind that ring down with a file or blocked sandpaper...........

no kidding
These things could have a lot more steering if they changed the horn on the servo. It does come off, like it's a real RC, so you don't have to fiddle with the retarded resets-when-off centering control. There is even a line and arrow on the servo to help you line it up.
They need to make a horn that is just a little bit longer, and there would be more steering throw.
Anyone know if there are micro servos that use the same output gear?

Belive me if the steering range had an 11 on it, It'd be there.
(Spinal Tap-hahaha)
Anyway, I also think that just the design of the suspension is a little lacking. It flops around quite a bit, and with the stock suspension bar, you actually get toe-out. I'm running the 4 bar, and I'm pretty happy with that.
With a larger servo horn, the car would have more movement than stock, just from the lever action of the servo and suspension lincage. If you get it too big, it may bind, so that may be why they went kind of short.
I'd be willing to go after it with some epoxy and a small peice of rod, but not right now, if I can find something else that will work.
