My axle won't stay put, so the gears slip...
I think I've switched so many axles on this car, so now it doesn't have enough support to hold the axle well enough.
What can I do about this?

Easy to fix. Take a tooth pick and stick it between the axle and plastic piece that sits under the axle on the bottum of the car. You have to come in from the back. Now just break/cut off the extra piece of tooth pick that you dont need. I put a piece of tape to help hold it down. I wouldn't use glue, because you wont be able to take it off for gear changing. This is something I have to do to dual cells often, because if it's just a little loose with a higher torque, then it will pull to one direction more.

Where does the tooth pick go?
Any pics?

If you have a soldering iron I have a solution. Use it to slightly melt and push the plastic back in to close the gap. I had a Zip Zap come like that and I had to fix it
Good Luck

No pics. It's simple though. Just look at the bottum of the bit with the axle on. See where the axle goes in. Now look at it from the back of the car. There is some space between the axle and plastic. Slide a toothpick in there, right in the middle of that space. It's not a round whole you're looking for.

As long as the car in on the floor, it should run fine, it's only when you pick it up that you get the gear slip. Or is it?

I need some toothpicks.
I have a 4.2 motor so it jumps off the gear when the car is on the ground.

I just bought 250 toothpicks from my local Walgreens for $0.99.
I can't get the toothpicks at a position where it hold the axle in place without rubbing againts the actual axle to strong.
In other words, it doesn't move.

Hey man, just do what Rex suggested. It's simple and permanent.

Yes, the toothpick is positioned correctly. If the wheels aren't turning then move the toothpick back a little (reduce pressure).
DT, you're right when you say that it will run fine on the ground, but it can/will interfere with higher torque. The higher the torque, the more it will pull on one side because the pressure is all on one side and not in the center. It may make one side lift a little. You can correct it with the alignment bar, but it's generally a good idea to keep the alignment bar as close to the center as possible, otherwise it will reduce performance slightly.
I don't want to get too technical about this, but I will explain it like this. You only need upward lift equal to 10% of the car's weight to make the car lift on one side. I've never seen a 1.0 cause this problem, but I've dual celled many cars, and use 2.6~4.2's. With one car, I've changed the back axle so much that there is definately a little extra space. When it runs you can really see it lift slightly on one side, but only during acceleration. So, in other words, after it gets up to full speed, it gos back to normal position. So I can't use the alignment bar to fix the problem because it only pulls during acceleration.
Also, I don't want to disregard what REX has to offer. That is also a good idea.

If I put the toothpick in an angle, it won't slow the car down much.
