well, i messed around with the trim knobs and was not able to get anywhere. the best i can do is maybe 4 steps in one direction and in the other it goes one step, then stuttering, then full right (or was it left). anyway since my car started out tracking straight, won't i end up in the same place after doing the all the adjustments?
it's pretty frustrating cause the propo makes it handles so well turning one direction, but going the other way it always spins out.
by the way, how are you guys returning/exchanging these since they were not bought at the store? do you have to pay to ship it back?

well, after messing around with 4 of em.....i realized that finding a spot on the controller trim where it doesnt stutter should be the first step.....im thinking about hot glue to secure it in place
then adjust the car chassis alignment to where it is centered is the next step.....
i got rid of all the stuttering and it drives straight and turns good both directions
now if there was only a way to make the steering wheel less sensitive

my impressions/?'s..
hi all, don't post much but always check the boards for messages! Anyways, here are some things I am having trouble with:
1. on slippery surfaces- tile floors for example, when I turn right, it spins out and going left it is fine...I've messed with the controller trim/chassis adjustments and no matter how I do it, it is messed up...Any fixes for this?
2. My body sits on it all crooked, the right side front and back sits lower than the left side front and back....any ideas of how to remedy this aside from returning it? Also, this may be affecting the handling as well??
3. When I first got it and charged it, it ran for like 7 minutes on 1 charge, now it is only getting about 3 minutes a charge...and yes, I have new batteries! Would using rechargeables be better??
4. The handle is too small for my big hands! Do you think that hole on the bottom of the controller is going to be for some kind of attachment/extension handle to hook onto??
5. My paint job is cracking in spots, especially where you put the tabs in, anyone else's doing this?
6. Turning the wheel slowly to the right, I can visibly see and hear the 'steps', but going to the left, it stutters and then just goes over w/o any 'steps'; doesn't that mean then that it isn't proportional steering to the left? How can this be fixed, I've read about the way to fix it and I've tried but can never find the 'sweet spot', do I just need to keep fiddling or should I return it for a new one??
Lastly, don't get me wrong, these are awesome, but does anyone else who has them sort of still thinks the original Zips are almost just as good as far as the handling and speed? The steering is a lot smoother, but to me it isn't like a major difference..I don't know, but then again, mine might not be set right or it may be goofed up! thanks in advance for any input/suggestions, later, david p.

1. The only fix (Drizz) found, and I have had success with is to continue to adjust on the steering alignment and trim as per the directions found in this forum.
2. Most of the first run of cars have twisted chassis'. Look down the bottom of you chassis, and see if it twists towards the front. If not, you may not have the body properly set on the tabs.
3. I never got 7 minutes from mine. I got 5 and still do.
4. The hole in the bottom of the controller is where the mini-screwdriver fits.
5. I have noticed a couple of blemishes, but no cracking.
6. Same as #1.
Lastly, once you get #1 and #6 right, you feel a lot differently about the control. The speed and torque is not as great on the SE's, but these are good for actual racing on a track where you more than likely won't be using 34k and 4.2 motors unless it has long straights and sweeping turns.

hey all, I went into my local RS today and showed this nice older (probably 60 or so) guy that works there my Zip Zap Se and he was all into it( though I think he wants to try and use some of the components for some super small micro RC Plane he is trying to make!), but anyways, he was really impressed and told me that hopefully by next week they will get these in! I live in Kansas so that is not too far away from Texas where the main warehouse is, right?? Later, David P.
PS- after running these more and more, I am Sold on them, it will be hard to even run my bits anymore, although I will still run my original Zips and my Muscle Machine RC's, but man these are the only WAY TO GO, in my opinion!
ALSO, thanks BC for replying to my ?'s, that helped!

ok, here's somethinig else i noticed... the front leds on my car are aimed up as opposed to straight on (maybe 30 degress or so). if i hold the back end of my car up, i get the nice bright headlight pattern on the floor in front of the car. i guess it's because the rx-7 car has pop up lights and they didn't have the room to aim them straight; combination of the leds being too big and the available space for them too small.
on the plus side, i'm thinking that illumination in front of the car will be much better with the other body styles.
